My Rating: 5 out of 5
If you’re looking for a book that blends mystery, romance, and some seriously cool tech, I Think I Was Murdered is a must-read. The story follows Katrina, a grieving widow who finds comfort in an AI chatbot programmed with her late husband’s memories—until one day, it drops a bombshell: “I think I was murdered.” Such a great line! From there, the book takes off into an emotional and suspenseful journey as Katrina searches for the truth.
What makes this book stand out is how it explores AI in a way that feels real and fascinating. It’s not just about the mystery—it’s also about grief, loss, and the tricky ethics of technology. Seb, the local restaurateur who helps Katrina, was my favorite character. He’s been through a lot (a sad childhood and teenage bullying) but built a good life for himself, and his dynamic with Katrina adds warmth and depth to the story.
With a satisfying ending that ties everything together, I Think I Was Murdered is a unique and engaging read that keeps you hooked from start to finish. If you love stories with heart, intrigue, and a touch of romance, definitely check this one out!

I read the physical copy and listened to the audiobook.
I’m a long time Coble fan. I remember picking up one of her earlier books, Without A Trace, at a writer’s conference and have been reading her books ever since. Colleen and I met virtually through a meeting with our mutual publisher. She shared she enjoyed my novel, The Thing About Home. I blushed. I’ll make a long story short and share that I got to tour with her last winter. She was generous enough to bring me along as she promoted her novel Fragile Designs. Here are some pictures:

I’ve had a romantic suspense/mystery/thriller something or other story in me from since 2005. The three are my favorite genres or at least my not-so-guilty pleasure. I recently dusted off my file of story ideas. Maybe it’s time to write one.
